Law No. 15 /2017 Private Investment Law

A Lei estabelece as bases gerais do regime jurídico do investimento privado em Timor-Leste. A lei regula os investimentos e reinvestimentos realizados em território nacional por investidores nacionais ou estrangeiros que pretendam beneficiar das garantias e incentivos nela previstos e que possam contribuir para o desenvolvimento socioeconómico do país.

A presente lei de investimentos privados não se aplica aos investimentos efetuados pelo Estado e pelas empresas públicas. Estão igualmente excluídos do âmbito dos benefícios fiscais e aduaneiros previstos na presente lei os investimentos efetuados por pessoas coletivas em que mais de 50% do capital seja detido pelo Estado ou por outras empresas públicas.

Further, this law on private investments shall not apply to investments made by the State and by public corporations. It is also excluded from the scope of tax and customs benefits provided for in this law are the investments made by legal persons where more than 50% of the capital is held by the State or by other public corporations.
