VMCI CONCLUDES CBP TRAINING FOR MINISTRIES UNDER THE AEC PILLAR

His Excellency, the Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Augusto Júnior Trindade, presided over the closing ceremony of the Capacity Building Program (CBP) training, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC) in partnership with the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The event took place at Hotel Timor, in Dili, on Thursday, March 13.

The training gathered focal points from various ministries involved in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Pillar, with the objective of updating participants on the progress of Timor-Leste’s accession as a full member of ASEAN.

During the ceremony, His Excellency, the Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry, expressed his gratitude to ASEC and ADB for supporting the capacity-building efforts of the ministries engaged in the AEC Pillar.

“On behalf of the Government of Timor-Leste, I thank the ASEAN Secretariat and ADB for their collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in strengthening Timor-Leste’s institutional capacity and human resources, enabling more effective participation in the regional integration process,” stated the Vice Minister.

The three-day training, held from March 11 to 13, 2025, covered strategic topics selected by trainers to equip ministry officials and agencies responsible for the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Agreement.

At the closing ceremony, the Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry, together with representatives from ASEC, ADB, and MNEC, awarded certificates to the participants who successfully completed the training.
