9TH STEERING COMMITTEE TIP MEETING

Minister of Commerce and Industry Mr. Nino Pereira attended the nine Steering Committee meeting of Trade Information Portal (TIP), at the World Bank in Licedere, Dili.

 

The ninth meeting give special importance to the priority of the ninth government to ensure a trade system that is not only free, but also well facilitated according to international standards, especially relative to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Association of Southeast Asian Countries-ASEAN.

Minister Nino Pereira in his speech affirmed that the information portal is part of Timor-Leste's commitment and aligns with international standards to ensure the trade system. 

“This portal is part of Timor-Leste's commitment to align with international standards, especially in the WTO trade Facilitation Agreement, to ensure a good trade system for Timor-Leste, where we hope to contribute to economic diversification, job creation, and ensuring Timor-Leste's good economic status in the region and the world”_said the Minister MCI.

The main objective of this meeting is to ensure and have inter-ministerial coordination with the private sector, to develop a portal that can ensure transparency and quick information in the system of trade facilitation, import and export or cross-border trade.
